It’s the end of football season (sad face!), but that means championship games, playoffs and the Super Bowl are around the corner! And nothing gets you ready to cheer on your team (Go Buckeyes!!) better than “game food”.
Let’s face it, game food is rarely healthy food. You can try and make it better for you, but in my humble opinion, you need hearty sustenance to get you ready to cheer, yell, scream, throw things at the television (yes, I’ve been know to do that) and be your team’s good luck charm.
One of our favorites–and likely the worst for us, too–is what we call “Evil Dip”. Why evil? It’s so evil it’s like the fru-its of the de-vil (gotta love a Mike Myers reference here!) Well, once you see the ingredients, you will know why it’s so e-vil. But if it weren’t so evil, it also wouldn’t taste so good!
So make this super easy, super popular, and super EVIL dip for the next big game. Just remember to cheer for the right team (THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals being MY teams each season), and be sure to keep a defibrillator handy for the heart attack your team–and this dip–may give you! GO TEAM!
- Brown sausage in large frying pan; drain excess grease from pan.
- Chop up Velveeta into 1" cubes; place in microwave safe dish. Microwave on "high" for 2-3 minutes, or until you are able to begin to stir the cheese and the cubes begin to melt.
- Add browned sausage and can of Rotel (drained) to cheese mixture.
- Microwave on "high" for 5-7 minutes, or until completely smooth. Be sure to check on the dip every 2-3 minutes and stir to make sure it doesn't over cook.
- Serve with Frito Scoops or any other sturdy corn chip.
Depending on how quickly this dips is devoured, you may have to reheat and stir to keep it creamy and smooth. Seriously addicting, and seriously e-vil.
This sounds like a quick and delicious dip that’s perfect for game day scooping!
This is a perfect game day dip! And I’m sure we’d love it as we cheer for our Seahawks!! 😉
Decidedly evil and decidedly over the top delicious!!!! Score!!!
Good for you game day food? No thanks…I’ll take this Evil Dip. Yum!!
Oh man this dip does look sinfully delicious and I love your name “evil dip.” Sometimes we all need unhealthy food to celebrate life and game day of course. Your name for this dip reminds me of how my dad calls mac & cheese from certain brands “yellow death” when he indulges, ha!
I love every single variation on this recipe I have ever tried! Even though it goes straight to my midlife thighs!
That’s why I so rarely make it, but DANG it’s addictive, midlife thighs or no! LOL
Wow this sounds delish! I think I could eat a whole batch all by myself!
You could easily find yourself at the bottom of a bowl of this. Of course, that much Velveeta may not treat you well afterwards, but in the moment, SO worth it! LOL
Definitely sounds evil, and goooood! Love the Mike Myers reference =)
So glad you got the reference! :o) And this really is e-vil stuff. Disappears in a flash!
Excellent website. A lot of helpful info here. I am sending it to some friends ans additionally sharing in delicious. And obviously, thanks on your effort!
I make this with Bob Evans spicy sausage, Pace medium picante sauce, and add a can of refried beans, and milk to thin out.
That’s what I love about simple recipes like this, Scott–you can change it up in whatever way you want! And any way you make it, it turns out great. :o)
